By popular demand, BMW has revelaed details of a long wheelbase 5-Series, but chauffeurs in the UK will probably not get to see it.
The Li version of the popular 5 series is stretched by a massive 14 centimeteres, giving rear passengers more leg room than ever before, which is riding into Audi’s A6L territory. The 5 series, and the A6 are popular cars for businessmen, who often have their own chauffeurs to drive them around town,
The stretched 5-series will be produced in China via BMW’s joint venture with Brilliance Automotive and will have its world launch at the Beijing Auto Show later this month.
The 5-Series is going straight up against some tough competition, the Audi A4L and Audi A6L are both extremely popular vehicles in China, and the Mercedes-Benz E Class is now made in China as well.
There is no word from the company as yet as to if showrooms in this country will get 5-Series L models.
