Superbus – Are limos the future of public transport?

Superbus…
This unique looking vehicle is being developed by the Delft University of Technology in Netherlands is called the Superbus.

Serious alternative…
Designed to be an alternative to buses & magnetic trains, this aerodynamic, lightweight vehicle can run on roads or on special “Supertracks” and uses on electricity rather than gas. The designers predict that the Superbus will be able to travel up to 155mph and should carry around 30 people.

The New Lamborghini Reventon flies over Turin

The city of Turin looked to the sky today to see the new heights achieved by Lamborghini.

The Lamborghini Reventón was carried by military helicopter over the automotive capital of Italy, thanks to the special co-operation of the Marina Militare Italiana (the Italian marines). It landed on the rooftop of the Lingotto building, and closed a conference hosted today by Lamborghini, entitled ”Lamborghini and speed – a project in record time”.

The conference explored the extraordinary timescales and design and production abilities demonstrated by Lamborghini in producing its € 1 million euro supercar, of which all 20 units have been sold worldwide.

The conference was attended by local, international and academic VIPs including representatives from the automotive industry. Lamborghini’s conference was part of the “Turin 2008 – World Design Capital” programme of events.

The 2007 World Record Limo Convoy managed over 1 Mile of stretch limousines 124 limousines attended! WOW! (Although the organisers are confident we have achieved the mile – We have to wait for official confirmation from “Guinness World Records”)

The 2008 Limo Convoy is planned to be bigger and better, and of course longer than the 2007 event.

Fastest limousine in the world hits the road at 170mph.

The world’s fastest limousine can go from 0 to 60mph in less than six seconds.
It is made from a Ferrari 360 Modena chopped in half and stretched by 9.5ft with a section of hand-built carbon fibre.
It has a top speed of around 166mph – just 17mph less than the standard 183mph Modena.
The 20ft long car – which only seats eight people – is set to claim two Guinness World Records as the fastest limousine and the longest Ferrari.

The car is set to claim two Guinness World Records as the fastest limousine and the longest Ferrari.
The world’s fastest limousine is now available to rent – a stretch Ferrari with a top speed of nearly 170mph.

The 400bhp beast is made from a Ferrari 360 Modena which was chopped in half and stretched by 9.5ft with a section of hand-built carbon fibre.

It is now 20ft long and seats eight people – but has lost little of its performance because it weighs just 160kg more than the original 1390kg car.

The 3.6 litre V8 engine launches the car from 0 to 60mph in less than six seconds and has a top speed of around 166mph – just 17mph less than the standard 183mph car.

Passengers climb in through hydraulically powered 9ft long gull-wing doors and sit in carbon fibre racing seats equipped with full five-point harnesses.

The car is set to claim two Guinness World Records as the fastest limousine and the longest Ferrari.
