General Motors Corp. recently delivered to the U.S. Secret Service a brand new presidential limousine, replacing the 2006 model Cadillac DTS presidential limousine that President George W. Bush has used.

The new limousine, dubbed the 2009 Cadillac Presidential Limousine, makes its debut on Inauguration Day. It’s the first presidential limousine not to carry a specific model name, said GM spokesman David Caldwell.

The armored 2009 Cadillac Presidential Limousine will make its debut at Obama’s Jan. 20 inauguration in Washington.

The Secret Service and GM say they’ll reveal more about the custom vehicle’s specifications next week.

Older-model presidential limos will remain in use. The previous model, a modified Cadillac DTS, was introduced at President George W. Bush’s second inauguration in 2005.

We’re great believers in stretched limos and feel that they’re one of the truly fun things to do and for everybody to enjoy. This is really something which has to be seen to be believed/understood/appreciated read this article and this is definitely a limousine you won’t quickly forget.

While the choice makes sense (?) since Mel B was once known as scary spice and often got around in her trademark leopard print outfits, but is this limousine – obviously custom built – just a sad, desperate bid for attention?

While trotting this limousine out on a Saturday night certainly attracted the attention of the local paparazzi, I guess it doesn’t mean this is only a desperate grab for the spotlight. Maybe Mel B should be celebrated for showing off her individuality and personal style and not worrying what other people think. Perhaps we should all take a leave from this spice book and indulge a side of our personality which is sometimes ignored.

Luckily for us there is already a plentiful array of unique limousines cruising the streets for us to choose from and most less painful to the eye than this mass of fur!

After all, in finding a limo hire company which takes care of ‘everything’ it’s not literally everything – they’re not doing your dry cleaning and collecting your mail, but they may organise a dinner reservation, tickets to a show, entry to a club, all of which just enhance the limo hire experience don’t they?
